Search Description

This search allows you to identify genes whose expression profile changes in a characteristic manner through development within a specified erythropoeitic lineage. The expression profile of each gene was compared to a series of template expression patterns using Pearson correlation and each gene was then associated with the template pattern with which it was most strongly correlated (a vector projection approach).

To use this search, first select the erythropoietic lineage. Then indicate the expression pattern that you would like to match. The choices are as follows:

  1. Upregulated in Basophilic Erythroblasts relative to the other stages
  2. Downregulated in Basophilic Erythroblasts relative to the other stages
  3. Downregulated in Polyorthochromatic Erythroblasts relative to the other stages
  4. Upregulated in Polyorthochromatic Erythroblasts relative to the other stages
  5. Downregulated in Proerythroblasts relative to the other stages
  6. Upregulated in Proerythroblasts relative to the other stages
  7. Increasing Expression during Erythropoiesis
  8. Decreasing Expression during Erythropoiesis

By default, the search only considers the Proerythroblast, Basophilic Erythroblast, and Polyorthochromatic Erythroblast stages. However, you can specify that it consider expression in the Reticulocytes as well by setting the Reticulocyte Expression parameter.
