Browser Compatibility
The bioWidgets Java software has been tested on:
- UNIX: Netscape Communicator 4.06, 4.08 and 4.5
- MS-Windows: Netscape Communicator 4.5; Internet Explorer 4.0
- Macintosh: Not supported (Communicator 4.5 and IE 4.5 JVMs are inadequate).
Using AnnotView
This page launches a Java(tm) applet which demonstrates CBIL's AnnotView
application.
To load a data set into AnnotView, type a Genbank/GSDB accession number into
the load box and press Return or click Load.

JavaBeans(tm) Architecture
AnnotView is constructed from CBIL's Map Widget,
>Sequence Widget and a number of supporting Java Beans(tm). All of its components
are beans and communicate via the standard Beans event model.
Here is a set of images showing the
JavaBeans(tm) design of AnnotView as created in the JavaStudio
application builder tool.
Licensing
AnnotView, BlastView and all of the Java(tm) source code and executables that comprise them,
with the exception of the executables provided by ORO Inc.
(PerlTools for Java),
are the property of and copyrighted by the Trustees of the University of
Pennsylvania.
Unlicensed copying is prohibited.
To obtain a license (academic or commercial) for BlastView and/or its constituent parts, contact
bioWidgets@pcbi.upenn.edu.
As of release 2.1.0, we will provide source code as well as executables to academic licensees.
