ApiESTDB is a database integrating EST sequences from numerous Apicomplexan parasites. ESTs and mRNAs were clustered and further assembled to generate consensus sequences. These consensus sequences were then subjected to database searches against protein sequences and protein domain sequences. The underlying relational structure of this database allows researchers to analyze these data and pose biologically interesting questions.

Using ApiESTDB

There are several ways to get started with ApiESTDB:
  • Click on BLAST at the top of the page and enter your sequence in the form provided. All the genes with significant sequence similarity to your query sequence will be displayed.
  • Click on genes at the top of the page to retrieve sequences of interest by querying the database according to a number of different criteria, including keyword search, dbEST library, accession number, etc.
  • Click on boolean at the top of the page to combine several quereis in a variety of ways using "AND"/"OR" boolean operation.
  • history page allows viewing previous query result and further "UNION"/"INTERSECT"/"SUBTRACT" selected query results.
